Monday
Upon arrival at Vágar airport you will already find yourself surrounded by impressive nature. At the airport a shuttle awaits you that will take you to Tórshavn where you will stay for the next seven nights Hotel Tórshavn. If you prefer city life and being downtown, then Hotel Tórshavn is the right hotel for you. You also have the opportunity to upgrade to Hotel Føroyar, or change to another hotel in Tórshavn. The evening offers a Welcome dinner at Restaurant Áarstova, which is famous for their delicious Faroese lamb.
Tuesday
Your guided adventure starts today where you are going on a full day tour exploring Vestmanna, Kvívík, Gásadal and Sandavág. You will be picked up at the hotel and from here you can relax and take in the beautiful scenery while a guide tells you stories about the places you pass. In Vestmanna you will go on at boat trip experiencing the highly impressive bird cliffs. After the boat trip you will stop for lunch before heading to the wonderful Kvívík, where you will visit the Viking settlements – This will give you an insight into how the Vikings lived. On the tour you will also experience Gásadalur, which is home to the beautiful and probably the most photographed waterfall Múlafossur. From Gásadalur you will also have a wonderful view to the island Mykines.
Wednesday
On this day you will take a trip to Suðuroy, the southernmost island. You will take the ferry at 08:45 on a 2-hour long ferry ridepassing Sandoy, Skúvoy, Lítla Dímun and Stóra Dímun, while listening to stories about the Viking legends Tróndur and Sigmund. When arriving at the port, you will take a short drive down to the southernmost point of the Faroe Island, Akraberg, before going north exploring stunning sights and charming historic villages, while immersing yourself in the secrets of the Vikings.
Thursday
is open for you to explore on your own or add on another guided tour. You can explore Tórshavn, the smallest capital in the world. Take a walk through the city and visit the old part of town. You can also visit the craft and wool shops along with a cozy café. If you like artifacts, you can visit several museums in the city.
Friday
Your day starts with pick up at the hotel at 08:00. On todays trip you will experience the beautiful Mykines with its rich bird life. You will go on a guided tour around the island, where you will be presented with the best puffin spots, and if you are lucky, you will be able to get some great shots of the puffins. You will enjoy your packed lunch in the wonderful surroundings of Mykines. Afterwards you will head back to the lovely small village, where you will be invited into Mykinestova for homemade fishsoup.
Saturday
Today you will also be able to explore on your own or add a guided tour. You can enjoy a day at the spa or take the public bus to Kirkjubøur, where you can see Saint Olav’s Church, the oldest still used church from the 12th century, and the ruins of the Magnus Cathedral from around 1300. We suggest that you do, what you feel you’re still missing out on. In the evening there will be a table waiting for you at Ruts restaurant at Hotel Føroyar.
Sunday
Your last day of exploring starts with a visit in beautiful Viðareiði, which is the northernmost village in the Faroe Islands. To get to Viðareiði you will be driving through the fishing capital, Klaksvík, where you on your way back will be able to try the Faroese Fish and Chips before going to the peaceful and picturesque Gjógv. In Gjógv you will be able to see the big gorge that Gjógv is known for. Our last village to visit is Tjørnuvík, which is situated in an isolated inlet with towering mountains and a beautiful black sand beach. From the beach, you can enjoy the fantastic view of the sea stacks Risin & Kellingin.
Monday
Your guided experience has come to an end and a shuttle taxi will take you back to Vágar airport. We hope that this adventure has richened you with old stories and traditions, great food, and amazing nature.
